After Izzie was born, we realized that we really need a point and shoot camera. I was walking around taking pictures right after having her because it was hard to try to show people how to use my big ol' camera. A lot of pictures came out blurry and if you look back over our family pictures, I'm usually not in them. SO we got a new camera for James so he could take pictures. It is pretty awesome too. It has HD video capability and well, I'm not a camera salesman...but it was nice for the money. So we took lots of pictures on our first little trip as a family.
After the summer of not doing anything...I was super antsy to get out of the house and do something! I really LOVE Lake Michigan and want to make it there at least once a year. So when Izzie was 3 weeks old we headed over for the night to Holland. We visited Tunnel Beach on Saturday for the sunset, went back to the pool at the hotel, then back to the beach, Holland State Park on Sunday. We also stopped downtown Holland and had a healthy lunch of Kilwin's Ice Cream. YUM! The kids enjoyed the beach. Elijah especially liked the sand. He was allowed to be covered in sand and didn't get in trouble when throwing handfuls into the lake! He likes to throw sand but usually it ends up in a cousin's hair so it was a nice change. I really enjoyed sitting on the beach with Izzie and just watching the kids (and James) play and make sandcastles. Just smelling the air at the beach is worth the drive.
On the drive over.
The water was 58 degrees.... COLD!
But Eli didn't mind the cold. He was shivering away but jumping right in!
Izzie- 3 weeks old.
Funny picture of Isadora on the beach.
Togetherness. :) The sunset was gorgeous...although i didn't capture it well.
Sandcastles.
Getting water to dump on the sandcastles was his delight.
I like this picture. Berlin didn't take to the water as much as Eli.
Izzie and I.
At the hotel in the morning.
Looks like I really love that ice cream! Us at Kilwin's.
Enjoying his healthy lunch.
Sunday at the beach. Decided to put life vest on Berlin to help ease our minds. She felt special with it on.
Snack time.
Sleeping babe.
She looks so old when she makes this face.

Those pics made me miss Holland, epecially that one of you and Berlin on the corner downtown...was that in front of the music statues? (I'm well familiar with those statues as I did a watercolor of them for one of my classes!)
